French Canadian accents are kind of interesting because they seem to have this emphasis on words in the middle of sentences where the tone raises and it sounds kind of like a question?

Someone I knew described a French Canadian accent as “I go to dee barn? To get dee snowshoe? but dere dey is. Gone.

This is pretty accurate. Also for the country touch throw some ‘ehs’ and ‘ah’s in there, it goes like

“I, eh, went go to dee, ah, baaarn? eh? To, ah, get dee, eh ah, snowshoes? But, ah, dere dey is, er eh, gone and stuff. eh?”

I wish I had a recording of my Grandpere’s accent. It was the most delightful mess.

The phrase “Life has no background characters” was a more English Major focused twist on this same concept I was given; the importance of perception, being aware of your own biases, and how hard it is to break free of unconscious assumptions.

And it is hard to do, very hard. One of the most terrifying things you can do to a human being is force them to realize that someone they hate, loathe, and find to be the very anathema to life itself is still a living, feeling, thinking person. I’ve been struggling to find a way to eloquently talk about this in books for a long time.

It says something about a society where empathy is so consistently no longer a trait that we need to convince university graduates to have it.

TELLTALE GAMES UNVEILS THE WOLF AMONG US SCREENSHOTS

Telltale Games has finally revealed a batch of screenshots for The Wolf Among Us, their first game to be released following the critically successful The Walking Dead.

The Wolf Among Us is based on Bill Willingham’s FABLES comic series and puts players in the role of Bigby Wolf (AKA the big bad wolf), sheriff of a hidden community in New York City that is full of fairy tale exiles. Your (Bibgy’s) task is to keep order within the society of mythical creatures and characters that are trying to remain undected to the real world.

The Wolf Among Us will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC sometime this summer and more information will be revealed aabout the game in the days leading up to E3 in June.

We did our engagement shoot two weeks ago and the photographer sent us this little postcard preview before sending us the entire 300 photos from the shoot. We’re going through them to pick out our faves and print them out, but this little collage is just so adorable. We did it in the dinosaur exhibit and outside around the Nature Museum.

I’m not usually big on posting pictures of myself on blog sites, but I had to share because I’m really happy with these.
